Reaching Out To You: HL Assurance Pte. Ltd. (“HLAS”) is a licensed insurance company in Singapore since 2012 and a subsidiary of Hong Leong Financial Group Berhad (“HLFG”), a public listed company in Malaysia.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, you shall be responsible to:

  • Oversee claims daily operations, Analyse and administer insurance claims portfolio
  • Manage a team of Claims Executives/ Officers and Claims Assistant, monitor and assess the staff performance, provide guidance and training to them where necessary to enhance development opportunities
  • Approve claim settlement within designated authority limit
  • Manage all claims reserving matters, e.g. monthly financial closing and actuarial reporting
  • Drive claims process improvement and quality customer service improvements in the entire claims process so as to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Ongoing review the quality of services received from service providers, e.g. loss adjusters, investigators, lawyers and car workshops.
  • Manage the recovery system and ensure that all legitimate recoveries are executed and followed through thoroughly promptly
  • Ensure risk management culture, infrastructure and processes are in place and reviewed continuously within the claim team to ensure that business risks are effectively managed
  • Work closely with respective Head of Departments, e.g. Underwriting and Operations team, to provide recommendations to improve product and pricing
  • Ensure timely submission of claims management information and statistics as required by the statutory boards or by Management requirements

 Job Requirements

  • A recognized Diploma or Degree / ACII / AMII or equivalent discipline or professional qualifications in General Insurance
  • At least 6-8 years of operational experience and knowledge in claims handling and audits
  • Good understanding of risk management, intermediary market place, international and local market trends and developments
  • Excellent analytical and decision making skills, meticulous and detailed
  • Independent and a fast leaner, able to grasp processes and system quickly
  • Good presentation, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Able to work within dateline and under pressure
